2024 Annual Meeting & Report
The Strafford Historical Society convened its Annual Meeting at 4 p.m., Sunday, October 6th, 2024, in the Morrill & Harris Library. The annual budget was presented and two Board Members were re-elected for terms of three years. The focus of the meeting was on the completed renovation of the Masonic Hall in South Strafford, and the conversion of the building into the Strafford History and Community Center.

A lot is going on right now. Learn the latest news about our upcoming annual meeting, Sunday November 5, 2024. and significant new grant funding to support (a) repair work on the Masonic Hall building in South Strafford (soon to become the “Strafford Historical and Community Center” and (b) for the repair of several boxes of historic manuscripts which were damaged when the basement of the Justin Morrill Homestead Education Center flooded this summer.

Restoration
Our new home is being restored! In September 2021, the Strafford Historical Society received a Vermont's Art Council Cultural Facilities grant for $18,040 to be used toward the installation of an energy-efficient heat pump system and was also awarded $51,520 in Tax Credits through the Agency of Commerce's Downtown & Village Center Program to be used toward roof repairs. The Northfield Savings Bank will purchase the Tax Credits.
